Boma Boers combines Paul’s thirty years in the beef cattle industry and Terri’s nearly twenty years of dairy goat experience. The goats were added to compliment the other farm enterprise, beef cattle. After seeing the power and muscle of a Boer goat, we knew that we wanted to add this breed to our small herd of dairy goats that we had on the farm alreadyWe define quality as more than just show ring performance. Quality comes from the combination of production performance, rate of gain, fertility, maternal instinct and longevity. After a year of “educating” ourselves about the Boer goat and visiting various breeders, we bought our first Boer goats, some percentage does from Jane Willis. About three months later, we bought our first fullblood, a doe from Denny Hamm. The rest is history. Since then we have added a few select Does that we have purchased from breeders in Pennsylvania, Texas and Tennessee. Our goal is to build a herd of very structurally sound and functional Does that consistently produce year after year. |
